• Saudi Non-oil Exports Valued at SR 14.6B in March

    The value of Saudi non-oil exports during the March, 2012 rose to SR 14.6 billion against SR 14.4 billion during same period in 2011, representing an increase of around SR 200 million.
    According to the Bulletin of the Kingdom's nonoil exports' commodity issued by the Department of Statistics and Information, the weight of non-oil exports during the March 2012 amounted to 3,932 thousand tons compared to 4,310 thousand tons during the same period of 2011, a decrease of 378 thousand tons or 9 per cent.
    The petrochemical products were the main commodities exported from the Kingdom during last March valued at SR 4.888 billion constituting 33 per cent of the total non-oil exports. Plastic products were worth SR4.637 billion constituting 32 per cent of the total non-oil exports. Re-exported goods were worth SR1.773 billion representing  12 per cent followed by foodstuffs with SR1.02 billion representing 7 per cent and the base metals and their products worth SR 852 million representing 6 per cent and the rest of the goods valued at SR1.431 billion, representing 10 per cent of the total non-oil exports.

     
    Among the top five countries of the Kingdom’s non-oil exports'destination during the March 2012, UAE came first with a total value amounted to SR1.626 billion, representing 11 per cent of total exports followed by China valued at SR 1.309 billion representing 9 per cent and Singapore valued at SR 1.036 billion, representing 7 per cent of the total non-oil exports. India was ranked fourth with SR 641 million representing 5 per cent , while Egypt was ranked 6th with SR620 million representing 4 per cent of the total non-oil exports.
    Meanwhile, the value of the Kingdom's imports during March 2012 rose by 4 per cent to SR 40.782 billion compared to SR39.091 billion during the same period last year.
